Our theme for our 30th year is Creating Beauty through our Work, Cultivating Wisdom from Within to reflect on the wisdom, experiences, and lessons that we've learned along the way through the years of our work!

Submit a Program Proposal

- 50 minute workshop

- 50 minute presentation

- 50 minute panel


What we're looking for:

  • Best practices on how your department/institution has paused to reflect and pivoted towards change to meet the needs of the campus community
  • Best practices on integrating online and on-ground programs, events, and student support services with a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens
  • Effective approaches on how to navigate the political climate at institutions (e.g. campus climate, departmental budgets, speaking to media outlets, crafting letters of solidarity/support to stakeholder groups)
  • Self-care that works for student activists and leaders, as well as diversity affairs professionals/practitioners
  • Best practices on using data driven approaches to improve the retention of specific populations you serve
  • Best practices on how to incorporate liberation pedagogy & research into practice in programs and centers
  • Current programs or initiatives that can be easily implemented at other campuses that advance transformative campus climate relations and build a more inclusive campus community
  • strategies and training's that effectively create brave spaces to advance equity work among your staff and within your center, office, intersectional identity programming, etc.
  • Innovative approaches to working collaboratively with other cultural or identity based center to address the intersection of identities
  • Facilitate round table discussions around significant issues related to our work such conversations for new professionals/graduate students, seasoned professionals, career aspirations, what comes after working at a cultural center, affinity caucus, or a topic of your choice


Deadline to submit a topic: Sunday, April 28th, 2024 at 11:59 pm


Presenters will be notified by Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Apply to be a discussion leader!


What does it mean to be a discussion leader?

Facilitate and lead a group of 15-20 DEI professionals in dialogue topics. Discussion Leaders will be provided suggested discussion questions to lead or may submit their own topics to lead the group towards intentional dialogue!


Pre-Selected Topic Suggestions Include but are not limited to:

  • Doing DEI work in non-DEI spaces
  • Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American (APIDA) Center Spaces and Support
  • Latinx/e Center Spaces and Support
  • Pan African / Black Center Spaces and Support
  • Native / Indigenous Center Spaces and Support
  • LGBTQIA2S/PRIDE Center Space and Support
  • Doing DEI work in non-DEI spaces and Support


What you should know about becoming a discussion leader: 

  • Deadline to apply will be Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 11:59pm
  • Discussion leaders will be selected by Monday, April 30th, 2024
  • Discussion leaders will be required to attend a Discussion Leaders Meeting on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 12:00-1:00pm via Zoom
  • Discussion Leaders will receive suggested discussion questions in May
